Monmouthshire Canal, Monmouthshire

Historical Description

Monmouthshire Canal, a canal made in 1792 in Monmouthshire. The Pontypool section, 8 miles long, runs from Newport to Pontypool, past Malpas and Pontnewydd, and joins the Brecon and Abergavenny Canal at Pontymoyle. The Cromlin section, 10 miles long, runs from Malpas by Risca, Cross Keys, and Newbridge, to Crumlin.
