New Tredegar, Glamorgan
Historical Description
Tredegar, New, a growing place in Tredegar ecclesiastical and Bedwellty civil parish, Glamorgan, on the river Rhymney, 4 miles SW of Tredegar. It has a station on the Brecon and Merthyr railway, and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Cardiff. There are collieries, a workmen's hall with library and reading-room, the new church of St Dingat, erected in 1893, and Baptist, Calvinistic Methodist, Congregational, and Wesleyan chapels.
