Ilston, Glamorgan

Historical Description

Ilston, a parish in Glamorgan, 4 miles SW of Killay station on the L. & N.W.R., and 8 W of Swansea, which is the post town; money order office, Park Mill; telegraph office, Reynoldston. Acreage, 3109; population, 250. Coins of Nero have been found. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St David's; gross value, £250 with residence. The church is ancient, and was restored in 1884. There is a Congregational chapel
