Cymmer (Llantrissant), Glamorgan
Historical Description
Cymmer, a village in Llantrissant parish, Glamorgan, at the confluence of the Rhondda-Fach and Rhondda-Fawr rivers, 4 miles NW of Pontypridd. It has a post and money order office under Porth (R.S.O-); telegraph office, Porth. A fire-damp explosion in a coal pit here in 1856 killed 114 colliers. There is a Congregational chapel.
