Moel Fammau, Denbighshire

Historical Description

Moel Fammau, a mountain on the mutual border of Flintshire and Denbighshire, 4 miles W by S of Mold. It has an altitude of 1823 feet, and was crowned with the Jubilee Tower, erected in 1810 by the gentlemen of Flintshire to commemorate the fiftieth year of George III.'s reign. The tower was a pyramidal column 150 feet high, but wasblown down in 1862.
