Llantysilio or Llandysilio, Denbighshire

Historical Description

Llantysilio or Llandysilio, a parish in Denbighshire, on the river Dee, 1 mile NVV of Berwyn station on the G.W.R., and 2 miles NW of LIangollen. It has a post office under Llangollen; money order office, LIangollen; telegraph office, Berwyn. Acreage, 8252; population, 892. Llantysilio Hall and Bryntysilio are the chief residences. The beautiful ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey will be separately noticed. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St Asaph; gross value, £290 with residence. The church is ancient and has been restored.
