Trefecca or Trevecca, Breconshire

Historical Description

Trefecca or Trevecca, a hamlet in Talgarth parish, Brecknockshire, 8 miles SW of Hay. Trefecca House was the residence of Howel Harris, one of the founders of Calvinistic Methodism, who established here a community on socialistic principles. The Countess of Huntingdon made Tredustan Court, in its vicinity, a college for teachers of the Connexion.
