Burniston
BURNISTON, a township, in the parish of Scalby, union of Scarborough, Pickering lythe, N. riding of York, 3ΒΌ miles (N. W.) from Scarborough; containing 349 inhabitants. It is situated on the eastern coast, and comprises by computation 1900 acres: the village is on the road from Scarborough to Whitby. There is a place of worship for Wesleyans.
