WINSLEY, a tything and chapelry, in the parish, union, and hundred of Bradford, Westbury and N. divisions, and Trowbridge and Bradford subdivisions, of Wilts, 1½ mile (W.) from Bradford; the tything containing 2269 inhabitants. The chapel is dedicated to St. Nicholas: there is a second chapel at Limpley-Stoke. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the gift of the Dean and Chapter of Bristol; income, £147.
