Throckley

THROCKLEY, a township, in the parish of Newburn, union and W. division of Castle ward, S. division of Northumberland, 6ΒΌ miles (W. by N.) from Newcastle; containing 160 inhabitants, and comprising by computation 735 acres. Throckley Fell, on the north side of the road between Newcastle and Hexham, was inclosed under an act obtained in 1816.
