Seaton-Burn
SEATON-BURN, a village, in the township of Weetsleet, parish of Long Benton, union of Tynemouth, E. division of Castle ward, S. division of Northumberland, 6ΒΌ miles (N.) from Newcastle, on the road to Morpeth. Here is an extensive colliery, leased by Lord Ravensworth and Partners, from the Rev. Ralph Henry Brandling, and employing about 300 men and boys. Seaton-Burn Hall, skirted by plantations, is one of the residences of the Rev. Mr. Brandling.
