Prescot
PRESCOT, an extra-parochial liberty, in the union of Winchcomb, Upper division of the hundred of Tewkesbury, E. division of the county of Gloucester, 5ΒΌ miles (N. N. E.) from Cheltenham; containing 62 inhabitants. This place was anciently covered with wood, and belonged to the monks of Tewkesbury, whence its ancient name Priest Coed, now Prescot.
