Foston and Scropton

Foston and Scropton.-The parish of Scropton contains the township of Foston, and lies partly in Derbyshire and partly in Staffordshire. The parish contains 3340 acres, 460 inhabitants, 101 houses, and real property valued at £6589. The church was built in 1855, and the living is a perpetual curacy worth £80. There is also a free school and other charities.
