Draycott-in-the-Clay

Draycott-in-the-Clay.-This place includes the hamlets of Moreton and Stubby-Lane. In the reign of Edward III. Richard Dracote was "lord of the town." It contains 492 inhabitants and 107 houses. "In the churchyard are one of those pyramidal stones which the Druids are said to have set up as funeral monuments of their most remarkable men."
