Bottwnog

Bottwnog is a parish in the hundred of Gafflogion and county of Carnarvon, 9 miles west-south-west from Pwllheli railway station, 5 north-west of Abersoch and 30 south-west from Carnarvon, in Aberdaron sub-registration district, union of Pwllheli, petty-sessional division and county-court district of Pwllheli, rural deanery of Lleyn, archdeaconry of Merioneth, diocese of Bangor, situated on the north bank of the river Soch. The parish church is dedicated to St. Beuno, and provides sittings for 150. The registers date from the year 1741. The living is a rectory annexed to Meyllterne, average tithe rent-charge £170, net income £133, with 9 acres glebe and residence, in the gift of the Bishop of Bangor, and held since 1878 by the Rev. Jenkin Davies of St. Bees. There are chapels for Baptists and Calvinistic Methodists,
