Stour Provost

STOUR PROVOST, a village 5 miles W. from Shaftesbury and 5 miles N.E. from Stalbridge. The church (St. Michael) is built in the early English style; the living of which is a rectory. The parish comprises 2777 acres, and had in 1841, 892 inhabitants.
