Ower Mayne

OWER MAYNE, alias Moyne Ogres, a village 7 miles E.S.E. from Dorchester, and about 2 S.W. from 'Moreton station.' The church consists of a nave and chancel surmounted by an embattled tower. Living a rectory. A fair for cattle, horses, &c., is held on October the 10th. The parish comprises about 4,500 acres, and the population in 1841, was 416.
