Lytchett Matravers

LYTCHETT MATRAVERS, a village 5 miles N.E. from Poole. The church is an antique building having a square tower, containing four bells, the living is a rectory. There is a Wesleyan chapel and a Methodist one, and a National school, with a small charity to be distributed in bread by the clergyman. The parish in 1841 contained 847 inhabitants.
