HILTON, a village 7½ miles W.S.W. from Blandford. The church (All Saints) is a neat structure, having a square embattled tower. Living a vicarage. Many fossil remains of quadruped animals have been found here. The parish comprises about 3000 acres, and had in 1841, 730 inhabitants.
