Handley

HANDLEY, a village, formerly a market town, 5 miles N.W. from Cranborne. The church, an antique fabric, is built in the Gothic style; there is a chapel for Wesleyans and a National school. The parish embraces the chapelry of Gussage St. Andrew and the hamlets of Woodcotts and Minchington, and comprises about 5000 acres with a population in 1841, of 1076.
