Earls Barton
Earls Barton is a parish and large village, pleasantly seated on the northern ridge of the fertile valley of the Nene, which flows through the parish on the east side, 6½ miles east-north-east from Northampton, 3½ south-west from Wellingborough and 1¼ north from Castle Ashby and Earls Barton station on the Northampton and Peterborough branch of the London and North Western railway, in the Eastern division of the county, hundred of Hamfordshoe, petty sessional division, union and county court district of Wellingborough, rural deanery of Rothwell (first portion), archdeaconry of Northampton and diocese of Peterborough.
