Batcombe
BATCOMBE, is a small village 9 miles S. from Sherborne, 4 N.W. from Cerne Abbas, and 12 N.W. from Dorchester. The church, an ancient Gothic edifice, is dedicated to St. Michael, and the living is a rectory. The parish, including glebe land, comprises 1009 acres, with a population in 1841 of 184.
