Ascot

Ascot is an ecclesiastical parish formed March, 1864, out of the civil parishes of Sunninghill and Winkfield, and includes Ascot Side, in the Eastern division of the county, hundred of Ripplesmere, petty sessional division, union and county court district of Windsor, rural deanery of Maidenhead, archdeaconry of Berks and diocese of Oxford; the South Western branch railway to Reading has a station near the grand stand, 29 miles from London and 6 south-west from Windsor.
