Duffield

Duffield, delightfully situated in a valley, on the banks of the river Derwent and Ecclesbourne brook, is a township, extensive parish and station on the Midland railway, 5¼ miles north from Derby by the railway and 5 by road, 2½ south from Belper and 132 from London, in the Mid division of the county, Appletree hundred, Belper union, Belper and Ilkeston county court district, petty sessional division of Belper, rural deanery of Duffield, archdeaconry of Derby and diocese of Southwell.
