Winkfield

Winkfield is one of the largest parishes in the county, consisting of Cranbourne, Winkfield Row, Ascot Side, and a portion of Bracknell and Braywood, being more than 8 miles across; it contains many gentlemen's seats, in consequence of the beauty of its scenery and its vicinity to Windsor; from the church Windsor is 6 miles south-west and 4 miles north-west is Ascot station on the London and South-Western railway, in the Eastern division of the county, hundred of Ripplesmere, petty sessional division of Maidenhead, union of Easthampstead, county court district of Windsor, rural deanery of Maidenhead, archdeaconry of Berks and diocese of Oxford.
