Shrivenham is a pretty village and parish, on the borders of Wiltshire, from which it is separated by the river Cole, with a station one mile south from the village on the Great Western railway, 7I½ miles from London and 5½ south-west from Faringdon, in the Northern division of the county, Shrivenham hundred, petty sessional division, union and county court district of Faringdon, rural deanery of the Vale of White Horse, archdeaconry of Berks and diocese of Oxford. The Berks and Wilts canal passes in the vicinity.
