Lyford

Lyford is a civil parish formed July 11, 1845, out of the parish of Hanney; it is on the river Ock, 5 miles north from Wantage, 4 north-west from the Wantage Road station of the Great Western railway, and 8 west from Abingdon, in the Northern division of the county, hundred of Ock, petty sessional division, union and county court district of Abingdon, rural deanery of Wantage, archdeaconry of Berks and diocese of Oxford.
