Wimboldsley

WIMBOLDSLEY, a township, in the parish of Middlewich, union and hundred of Northwich, S. division of the county of Chester, 2ΒΌ miles (S. W.) from Middlewich; containing 106 inhabitants. The township comprises 907 acres, the soil of which is clay. The Grand Junction railway passes through. Lea Hall here, was for a considerable period the residence of the celebrated physician, Dr. Fothergill, who died in 1780.
