Stewton (St. Andrew)

STEWTON (St. Andrew), a parish, in the union of Louth, Wold division of the hundred of Louth-Eske, parts of Lindsey, county of Lincoln, 2½ miles (E.) from Louth; containing 55 inhabitants. It comprises 959 acres of land, chiefly arable; the soil is a heavy clay. The living is a discharged rectory, valued in the king's books at £7, and in the gift of T. Heneage, Esq.: the tithes have been commuted for £200, and the glebe comprises 11 acres.
