Milkhouse-Street

MILKHOUSE-STREET, a hamlet, in the parish, union, and hundred of Cranbrooke, Lower division of the lathe of Scray, W. division of Kent, 1ΒΌ mile (N. E.) from Cranbrooke. A small manufacture for hop-bagging is carried on. The Wesleyans have a place of worship. Here are the interesting remains of a chapel dedicated to the Holy Trinity; also the ruins of Sissinghurst Castle, formerly the seat of Sir Richard Baker, Knt., author of the English Chronicle.
