Maunby

MAUNBY, a township, in the parish of Kirby-Wisk, union of Thirsk, wapentake of Gilling-East, N. riding of York, 6 miles (S. by W.) from Northallerton; containing 283 inhabitants. It is on the east bank of the Swale, and comprises by computation 1474 acres of land. The Leeming-Lane passes at about two miles' distance on the west.
