Hutton-Hang

HUTTON-HANG, a township, in the parish of Fingall, union of Leyburn, wapentake of HangWest, N. riding of York, 3ΒΌ miles (E. by N.) from Middleham; containing 43 inhabitants. This township, which comprises about 580 acres, is divided into High and Low, and gives name to the two wapentakes of Hang-East and Hang-West: the river Ure passes on the west and south.
