Hawes

HAWES, a chapelry, in the parish of Bassenthwaite, union of Cockermouth, Allerdale ward below Derwent, W. division of Cumberland, 6ΒΌ miles (N. N. W.) from Keswick. The chapel was founded and endowed by the inhabitants, in 1471.
