Crakemarsh

CRAKEMARSH, a township, in the parish and union of Uttoxeter, S. division of the hundred of Totmonslow, N. division of the county of Stafford, 2ΒΌ miles (N. by E.) from Uttoxeter. This is a fertile township watered by the river Dove, and lying on the road from Uttoxeter to Rocester. Crakemarsh Hall, the seat of Sir Thomas Cotton Sheppard, Bart., is a delightfully situated mansion, near the Dove.
