TAWNA, or TAVNA, an island, in the parish of BALLINACOURTY, barony of DUNKELLIN, county of GALWAY, and province of CONNAUGHT, 5 miles (S. W.) from Galway, in the bay of Galway; containing 220 inhabitants.
