Historical Description
Churton Heath or Bruera, a township and an ecclesiastical parish in the civil parish of St Oswald, Chester, Cheshire. The township is 5 miles S by E of Chester. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1868, and includes also the townships of Lea-cum-Newbold, Saighton, and Huntingdon. Acreage of the township, 133; population, 7; of the ecclesiastical parish, 474. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chester; gross value, £147. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Chester. The church is ancient, and contains several monuments; the chancel has a fine Norman arch.
