Orcheston St Mary, Wiltshire

Historical Description

Orcheston St Mary, a parish in Wiltshire, on Salisbury Plain, 8 miles N of Wishford station, and 8 NE of Wiley station on the Salisbury branch of the G.W.R., and 12½ SSE of Devizes. It has a post office (S. O.) Acreage, 1895; population, 145. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury, net value, £220 with residence. Patron, Clare College, Cambridge. The church is partly ancient and restored, and the chancel has been rebuilt.
