Historical Description
Ogbourne St Andrew or Little Okebourne, a village and a parish in Wilts. The village stands on a small affluent of the river Kennet, 2 miles N of Marlborough station on the G.W.R. It has a post office under Marlborough; money order and telegraph office, Marlborough. Acreage of parish, 5386; population, 386. Rockley House is the chief residence. A preceptory of the Knights of St John was at Rockley. The limits include a considerable portion of Marlborough Downs. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Salisbury; gross value, £200 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Canons of Windsor. The church is ancient, and has a tower.
