Little Somerford, Wiltshire

Historical Description

Somerford, Little, a village and a parish in Wiltshire, on the river Avon, with a station at Somerford on the Malmesbury and Dauntsey branch of the G.W.R. Post town, Chippenham. Acreage, 1210; population, 339. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £220. The church is ancient but good, and contains some fine old oak carvings.
