It together with the townships of Stublach, Leese, part of Cranage, and part of Rudheath lordship, forms part of the ecclesiastical parish of Byley-cum-Leese. Population of ecclesiastical parish, 480. The benefice is a rectory in the diocese of Chester; value, £134. Patron, Vicar of Middlewich. The church was erected in 1846. Post town, Middlewich.
