Thorpe Morieux, Suffolk

Historical Description

Thorpe Morieux, a parish in Suffolk, 4 miles NNE of Lavenham station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under Hitcham; money order office, Felsham; telegraph office, Cockfield. Acreage, 2497; population, 385. There is a parish council of seven members and a chairman. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; net value, £357 with residence. The church is an edifice of stone in the Perpendicular style, with an embattled tower, and has been restored.
