Thorington, Suffolk

Historical Description

Thorington, a parish in Suffolk, 3 miles SSE of Halesworth station on the G.E.R. Post town, Halesworth; telegraph office, Darsham. Acreage, 1448; population, 104. Thorington Hall is the chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £175 with residence. The church is a small building of flint in the Early Norman style, and contains some good wood carving.
