Shelland, Suffolk

Historical Description

Shelland, a parish in Suffolk, 3½ miles WNW of Stowmarket station on the G.E.R. Post town, Stowmarket. Acreage, 551; population of the civil parish, 90; of the ecclesiastical, with Gipping, 135. The living is a donative, united with Gipping, in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £52 with residence. The church is a small edifice of flint and brick in the Pointed style.
