Meaford, Staffordshire
Historical Description
Meaford, a village and a township in Stone parish, Staffordshire, near the river Trent, 1½ mile NNW of Stone. Meaford Hall was the ancient seat of the Jervis family, and was the birthplace of Earl St Vincent, who was raised to the peerage in 1797 in recognition of his victory over the Spaniards at Cape St Vincent.
