Historical Description

Upton Noble, a parish in Somerset, 1½ mile SW of Witham station on the G.W.R., and 3 miles NNE of Bruton. Post town, Bruton, under Bath. Acreage, 679; population, 202. The living is a rectory, annexed to Batcombe, in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £600 with residence. The church is ancient and small, and has been restored. There is a small Wesleyan chapel.
