Seavington St Michael, a parish, with a village, in Somerset, 3½ miles W of Ilminster station on the G.W.R. It has a post office under Ilminster; money order and telegraph office, South Petherton. Acreage, 286; population of the civil parish, 176; of the ecclesiastical, 313. The manor belongs to Winchester college. The living is a rectory, united with Dinnington, in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £320 with residence. Patron, Earl Powlett. The church is old but good.

St. Michael (parish church)
The church of St. Michael is a small but ancient building of stone in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, north porch and a turret containing 3 bells: attached to the outside of the chancel wall is an ancient stone effigy without any inscription: there are sittings for 138 persons.
