Radcot or Radcutt, Oxfordshire

Historical Description

Radcot or Radcutt, a township in Langford parish, Oxfordshire, on the river Thames, 3½ miles SE from Langford. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Faringdon. Acreage, 441; population 33. A three-arched bridge here crosses the Thames, is supposed to have been erected in the 13th century, and was the scene of a battle in 1387 between Robert Vere, Duke of Ireland, and the Earl of Derby, afterwards Henry IV.
