Historical Description
Worton, Nether, a village and a parish in Oxfordshire, 2½ miles WSW of Deddington, 5 SW from Aynho station on the Oxford and Birmingham section of the G.W.R., and 8 S from Banbury. Post town, Steeple Aston; money order and telegraph office, Deddington. Acreage, 734; population of the civil parish, 29; of the ecclesiastical, with Over Worton, 118. The manor belongs to the baronet family of Hayes. The living is a vicarage, now joined with that of Over Worton, in the diocese of Oxford; joint net value, £176 with residence. The church is a building of stone in the Decorated style, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, and an ivy-clad western tower.
