Kencott, a parish, with a village, in Oxfordshire, 5 miles NE by N from Lechlade, and 1½ mile W by N from Alvescot station on the G.W.R. Post town, Swindon, via Lechlade; money order and telegraph office, Lechlade. Acreage, 1083; population, 147. The manor belongs to Charles Large, Esq. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; net value, £320 with residence. The church is a small but ancient building of stone in mixed styles.
