Historical Description

Hardwick, a parish in Oxfordshire, 5 miles N from Bicester town and station on the L. & N.W.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Biceste] ½ Area, 389 acres; population of the civil parish, 50; of the ecclesiastical, 66. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; net yearly value,, £115. The church is ancient, and has a well-preserved fin— Norman door. It has been beautifully restored and a new aisle added by the late Earl of Effingham, under the direction of Sir Gilbert Scott.
